A Day of Cock and Bull!
27 January 2010
'L--d! said my mother, what is all this story about? ---- A COCK and a BULL, said Yorick -- And one of the best of its kind, I ever heard'.
On March 25th, students will be reading for ten hours continuously from Laurence Sterne's unique and funny novel, The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman, in aid of FACE-FAW (Keriba - Cock and Bull), the students' charity.
Each House will be responsible for an hour of reading throughout the day. The draw for timings was made this morning accompanied by a reading by students of Tristram's reflections on love.
Sterne was vicar of Coxwold in the 18th century, and the curator of Shandy Hall. Patrick Wildgust is helping with this exciting project.
